Mixing meat, fish or herbs is now easier than ever with one of the meat mixers from Maxima. A meat mixer is a crucial part of any meat dish or filling, and saves you both time and very messy hands. The range of meat mixers from Maxima offers various options to suit every need.

What is a meat mixer?

The tastiest meat is always handmade. Whether you need to spice or season your food, or even make it a bit more tender, there’s a lot of work that goes into preparing meat before it’s even cooked. A meat mixer is the key ingredient for all your sausages, hamburgers or fish dishes. From now on, you can literally add your own twist to your meat fillings or mince mixes. A meat mixer is a versatile tool and a time saving asset in many catering establishments.

Prepare a simple ground beef recipe, or venture out exploring the rich flavours of lamb. Add whatever herbs and spices your heart desires. In one minute, you could be preparing a spicy meat dish to add to tacos or burritos, and in the next moment you could be combining a family blend of delicious Italian flavours. Do you need a soft filling for a pie or to make your own pâté? Or do you want to mix vegetables or nuts together to add to your dish? None of these are a problem with this appliance in your kitchen. Just add a little liquid to the mixture to make it extra smooth. By simply turning the handle, you can grind and mix ingredients into your desired texture.

Maxima has meat mixers ranging from small to large, with the larger appliances including a double shaft. Thanks to the easy-to-dismantle parts and stainless steel design, it is also very simple to clean after use.

How do you use a meat mixer?

Some appliances are designed in such a way that you can immediately see how they work. This is also true of the meat mixer. Open the lid and add in the desired amount of meat or other ingredients. Keep to the maximum capacity of the reservoir so that the appliance can distribute the food evenly. Then add spices or any other ingredients to give your dish extra flavour. Close the lid and turn the handle. This will set the mixing wing in motion, combining the meat and the seasoning. Keep turning until the meat has reached the texture you desire.

Does the meat need to be ground first into mincemeat? Then it’s advised to use a professional electric meat grinder first for the best result. Under the Food Processing category of our webshop, you will find many more handy appliances for helping you prepare meat. For example, discover our hamburger presses sausage stuffers or meat tenderisers.

What different kinds of meat mixers are there?

Because of its simplicity, there is very little difference between the different types of meat mixers. There is really only one question that’s important when buying a professional meat mixer: how big should the device be? The capacity of these devices is usually indicated in litres, for example, our smallest model has a reservoir of 10 litres. This allows you to process approximately 7,5kg of meat at a time. The meat mixer of 50 litres has considerably more capacity and includes a double shaft. It processes about 37,5kg of meat at a time. This is ideal when you need to prepare large quantities of food in a short space of time.

How do you clean a meat mixer?

It’s essential to thoroughly clean the meat mixer after each and every use. After all, raw meat is prone to developing bacteria. You also don't want any leftover spices or flavourings to end up in the next dish and affect that food. Fortunately, cleaning is just as easy as operating the meat mixer.

The handle and the mixing wing are both easy to remove. These parts are made from stainless steel and are dishwasher safe. To clean the reservoir, first remove any large food residue with a dry cloth. You can then use a wet cloth and a little detergent to wipe down the inside. A hygienic result can be achieved by using lemon water, or by adding a vinegar and salt solution to warm water. Then rinse the appliance with water and allow to dry before reassembling the parts.
